Don’t Stop Believing

Don’t Stop Believing

A community began to worry deeply about the prolonged drought which was affecting their wheat and corn crops in very obvious ways. The wheat kernels were not developing out as needed for even a minimum yield and the corn leaves were already drooping severely. The town depended heavily upon the farming potential of the area and had always been able to count on enough rain that irrigation was something they had never invested in extensively. The religious leaders of the town met and agreed to call for a combined day of prayer about rain. They asked their congregations to gather together in the one large meeting house the following day. As the anxious town people settled in their seats, the religious leaders took turns pleading the cause for rain on behalf of all present. It was a solemn setting indeed as these farmers and businessmen joined in with their own prayers and silent pleas. Imagine the joy when they suddenly heard a deep rumble of thunder, an appearance of dark clouds in the distance , and then the sound of rain on the roof. They were all overjoyed. But they were just as surprised to see that as they walked out through the rain to their cars only one person out of the entire group had brought an umbrella—a young girl whose faith had been so sure she had taken appropriate action!

My Reflection

We all hope and pray for things in our lives but do we absolutely without a shadow of doubt believe in what we are ‘hoping’ for? How much ‘doubt’ do you add to your prayers and hopes in life? A lot of things are truly possible in life and it’s the people who whole heartedly believe in themselves and their aspirations that succeed. This means that the second you bring in 'doubt', it is the first step in the wrong direction. When you truly believe in something, stick to it with full faith and with an attitude of confidence that you will succeed. It’s time to liberate yourself from the doubts in your faith and prayers. All things are possible for those who truly believe!

May you have an awesome week!

but it is belief that is the positive, it is belief
that sustains thought and holds the world together.”

To My Son

O my son! the removing of stones with a wise man is better, than the drinking of wine with a sorry man,  and pour out thy wine on the tombs of the just, and drink not with ignorant, contemptible people.

(cleave to wisdom (and not knowledge), and avoid foolishness of any form)

O my son! cleave to wise men who fear God and be like them, and go not near the ignorant, lest thou become like him and learn his ways.

To My Son

O my son! bend thy head low down, and soften thy voice, and be courteous, and walk in the straight path, and be not foolish. And raise not thy voice when thou laughest for if it were by a loud voice that a house was built, the ass would build many houses every day; and if it were by dint of strength that the plough were driven, the plough would never be removed from under the shoulders of the camels.

Urantian update !

"This man of Galilee was not a man of sorrows; he was a soul of gladness. Always was he saying, 'Rejoice and be exceedingly glad.' But when duty required, he was willing to walk courageously through the 'valley of the shadow of death.' He was gladsome but at the same time humble."
